Help with virus removal?
I've managed to get XP Home Security 2012 virus on my computer this morning. I've tried to get it removed with my own Malware to no avail. I went on the internet and advice was to download Spyware doctor and use that to remove it. I've loaded it onto my computer and run a scan but it won't let me remove the virus unless I purchase Spyware doctor which I can't do as the virus won't let me get onto the internet!
Any suggestions please?

Thanks Gurge. I managed to d/l rkill which seemed to work but fucked up my proxy settings so now the only way I can access the interent is not to use proxy and cponnect direct. I am not really sure if that is a good idea or not.

Re: Help with virus removal?
Personally ..........
*If you have access right now to your stuff priority one should be backing it up. In case one of the so called fixes fucks - up your computer even more than it already is.
*Then*
I would consider nuking everything on the computer and reformatting the entire computer and starting over from scratch and reinstalling the operating system to get everything fresh once again.
That particular virus you got really screws up the computer and despite the fact that there are tools to get rid of it and get your computer running again. It never really gets rid of all of it.
I got it once on an older xp computer. After fiddling with it for a few hours with patches and quick fixes , I quickly realized that the only way I was going to get it to run good again was to reformat the drive and start from scratch.
I guess a lot of this depends on what you have for a computer and if you have access to all the original installation media (set-up disks) and / or a recovery partition on the computer.
If the computer is a few years old and has never had this done before it might have been due for it anyway, so it might not be a total loss of your time to do this kind of a clean out. Over time the computer is going to collect a lot of junk it does not need and this is usually one of the best ways to get rid of the junk. In my opinion all the fixes and patches are probably just going to add even more junk to the system you don't need.

Thanks Gregg but I don't really have the confidence or competence to be able to do it all from scratch. I will just have to be very watchful and careful...

There should be immediate genital removal in public for these assholes that do this shit.......and when they are at the peak of suffering, stone them to death.
I think that's fair.
